Forced air is usually delivered through the metal duct system throughout a building. In Canada, this has been the most common method of home heat delivery for the last few decades. Its popularity still exists because it is a relatively low cost heating and cooling delivery system.
Cast iron radiators and baseboard heaters are another method of delivering heat to specific rooms with zone controls (have option to have a thermostat in each room). Different sizes are available and will fit most locations along a wall or under a window. For a contemporary, reliable way to deliver heat in any room a cast iron radiator may be a good fit. Baseboard heaters are found on the perimeter of your homes walls and can be added to any room at any time.
For an economical garage or shop heating system in either propane or natural gas, a radiant tube heater will fit most applications. Radiant tube heater technolgy provides savings in installation and operating expenses. Radiant heat focuses the energy where you want it rather than heating the entire building.
